I make work that is an exploration into and documentation of personal history and cultural symbols. My process is one of interrogation into the internal archetypes and external conditions that overlap to form the world that I, and communities of kin, exist within. 

My interdisciplinary practice of painting, assemblage, collage, and photography emphasizes areas of intersection, a theme heavily informed by my multicultural heritage. Through meditation, ancestral veneration, and research into the spiritual and artistic traditions of my heritage, I probe into what it means to exist in this time, at these specific junctions of race, culture, gender, and thought. From my findings, I create work that gives form to what is felt but not typically seen or openly celebrated. 

Through bold color, otherworldly composition, and recurring motifs of water, shells, and luminaries, I aim to depict the energy of the present moment in relation to all that has come before it and all that will arise from it. I view my work as simultaneously deeply rooted in the past and as a portal to futures that value the wisdom of ancestral memory.
